‘THE WOMEN OF KARBALA – ETERNAL ROLE MODELS FOR HUMANITY’ – by Sheikh Ahmed Haneef
Sheikh Ahmed Haneef is a world renowned lecturer and is a grassroots activist involved in the affairs of the youth, converts and oppressed peoples in North America and Africa. He attended York and Mac Master Universities. He has been studying in Qom for over a decade, and specialised in Islamic jurisprudence, Qur’anic hermeneutics, Islamic History, Gnosis and Philosophy.
Alhamdulillah, with the Grace of the Almighty, yesterday saw a hugely successful event organised by the Youth Committee of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society. The event was an inspiring lecture by the renowned speaker Sheikh Ahmed Haneef, who taught of the authentic Islamic ideals of justice, piety, and humanity through the examples of the womenfolk of Karbala – extremely pertinent in the wake of recent tragedies. A great many thanks to all those who attended, especially those who came from Dundee and afar. And our gratitude to Shaykh Ahmed for the enlightening lecture. Look forward to regular lectures and workshops organised and coordinated by the Youth! 15/11/15
