As the year runs its course, we reflect on the transformative impact it has had on us all. People have been tested in ways they would once not have expected. Our prayers go to all who have suffered or are suffering — may they be granted succour and peace, and may that come from the doing of our hands.

Along with difficulty, this year has brought about a collective spirit — our pains and our triumphs are all shared as a collective humanity. It has also taught compassion and empathy, and society has become more charitable for it. May the good increase, and may the Almighty shelter all people from the hardships.

And as we mark St Andrew’s Day, we wish blessings, happiness and warmth to all.
