We were proud to have been invited by Amy Bartlett, Regional Register Development Manager for Scotland and Northern Ireland, as supporters of Anthony Nolan’s event held on the 17/06/15 at Dynamic Earth. A special thanks to her for having given us the opportunity to fulfill our duty to raise awareness of the need for bone marrow donations. Chief Executive Henny Braund welcomed all to the event and spoke of the need for Anthony Nolan’s good work. It was also good to hear from Bill Kidd MSP who reminded how important it is for Black and Ethnic Minorities to join the Bone Marrow Register. Thereafter, Pat Watters spoke on behalf of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and demonstrated the great support they have for Anthony Nolan. The speech given by Ally Boyle, ambassador of Anthony Nolan and sufferer of MDS, was incredibly touching and inspirational. A special mention goes to Noreen Siddiqui whose young daughter Ayesha suffers from blood cancer and all the selfless work she and her family have been doing in support of Anthony Nolan. The Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society were humbled to have been there, and we will try our utmost to fulfill our duty to society.
