The Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society’s Iftaar (fast-breaking) programme for members of the Shia Muslim community in Edinburgh. The Observance of the Fast spiritually disciplines and purifies one’s body and soul, and the breaking of the Fast is the bestowal of the sustenance of the Almighty, and a time to bolster fraternity and community spirit. Following the deeply saddening news of the passing of a prominent and well-respected figure of Edinburgh’s Shia community, Sohney Shah, we dedicate the gathering to him, and we pray that Allah the Almighty and All-Clement grant him Mercy and Bliss in the company of the Purified Ones evermore.
