Statement of Condolence and Solidarity; Following the tragic attack on a Sikh temple in Kabul, Afghanistan
Date: 25th March 2020
We are shocked and distraught to learn of the tragic news of the killing of dozens of Sikh worshippers in Kabul, Afghanistan. Our prayers extend to the victims, the departed and their families during this trying time. As the world sees great trials and difficulties unfold, it is crucial that we ban together around common humanity, and condemn vicious acts of violence like these. Our hand extends to the Sikh community at this time, and all those people of faith and no-faith. The Prophet Muhammad and his Holy Household taught that life is inviolable and sacred, and that the places of worship of those of other faiths are not to be defiled or desecrated. We pray that our collective humanity prevails at a time where we see the devastation that division can cause.
